CompTIA Certification Courses

From 20 June to 5 August 2016, University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (UniMy) had offered CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ as part of electives courses for students who are undertaking degree programmes. These certification courses were conducted by certified industry trainers, Mr. Daniel Yap Kim Pun and Mr. Lee Chew Mun, who have great experiences in the field of network and information security, and had been involved in the industry for almost 25 years.

During the classes, students were exposed to various knowledge and skills in networking and security and were divided into groups to work on solution for different fields such as insurance, banking, NGO and many more. Apart from that, students were given the opportunity to be a CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certified. At the end of each course, the students sat for CompTIA’s examination, where they need to score certain points to pass the exam and become certified.

Overall, the students enjoyed the certification courses and felt grateful to be given the golden opportunities to learn from professionals and to get certified even before they graduate. IT security is paramount to organizations as cloud computing and mobile devices have changed the way we do business. With the massive amounts of data transmitted and stored on networks throughout the world, it’s essential to have effective security practices in place.
